Safari Jeep Rental Terms & Conditions
Theft Protection Waiver [TPW]
When you hire a car from us you will not need to pay for the car if the car is stolen. Your liability is limited to the insurance excess surcharge which in most cases is 10% of the value of the car. For complete peace of mind you can purchase a non-refundable excess insurance when hiring a car.
Collision Damage Waiver [CDW]
We agree to waive the costs of damage to the rental vehicle if it is involved in a collision. However you will be liable for the first part of any claim not exceeding 10% of the cost of the car. For claims that exceed 10% of the value of the car, your liability is limited to the applicable insurance excess surcharge. Please note that CDW does not cover damage to the tyres, wheels, undercarriage, roof and windscreen of the car.
Excess Liability Waiver [ELW]
When hiring a car from us we request that you either choose to accept the liability of paying excess in the event of eventual loss or damage to the car alternatively you can purchase excess insurance with your car rental.
Excess Deposit
In order to satisfy insurance regulations that guide the car hire business in Kenya, we charge a very reasonable excess deposit. This deposit is 100% refundable when you return the car in good condition as indicated in the car hire contract. If you are wary about paying an Excess Deposit please talk to us.
Safari Jeep Chauffeur / Driver Services
If you want to hire a car with a driver (chauffeur) we charge US$ 15 per day within Nairobi or Mombasa, between 06:00 hrs to 19:00 hrs. This includes meals. Overtime charges are applicable at US$ 10 for the next 5 hours until midnight. All other locations in Kenya are charged at US $ 28 per day inclusive of meals and accommodation, between 06:00 hrs to 19:00 hrs. Overtime charges for these locations are US$ 8 for the next 5 hours until midnight.
Driver’s Age Limit
In order to hire a car from us, you must be between 23 and 70 years old. You must be a holder of a valid international driver’s permit for the past 2 years and have no endorsements. Under special circumstances and a separate contract we may allow a person outside these age limits to hire our cars.
Safaris Jeep Hire Requirements
In order to rent a car; we require a copy of your passport, driving license, full contact details and a full advance payment for the period of hire before or on collection of vehicle. We may require or waive the insurance excess cash deposit. If you have any special requirements or you feel you need a custom contract, please contact us.
Terms & Conditions: Safari Jeep Hire
If you are hiring the car on self-drive, the minimum rental period is three days. Any rental that is below 3 days must be accompanied by a driver.
